North Park, Madden and Mike Vick

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, Mike Vick, may have been locked up before but he is looking to ‘lock up’ a whole new title. Currently he is in a race with the Cleveland Browns’ Peyton Hillis to nab the cover of Madden 2012.
Most people would have speculated that after Vick’s dog-fighting conviction, there would be no more fame a glory for the quick footed quarter back, but he has bounced back already winning four rounds in the ESPN voting polls.
As a whole-hearted Vick fan, I am excited to see his return to stardom and fresh view on life. Obviously the rest of the sports-watching nation is in agreement, voting for him to be on the cover of the coveted, football video game, but how do people on my own North Park campus feel about his second chance at life?

I spent a Monday afternoon in Carlson Lobby simply asking students passing by what their perspective on Vick's comeback. I unamonously got one of two answers: 'He served his time' or 'it's in the past, he's really good so whats it matter.' I am proud to know that North Park breeds students to be forgiving and believe in redemption.

Maybe Vick will be in all of the dorms on campus as the cover star to every Madden player's collection for the 2012 edition.
